The wait is almost over to be able to return to explore the dangers of the Zone: GSC Game World has announced that the first major expansion of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, entitled Cost of Hope, will be available starting August 20th. Along with this news, the studio unveiled a new trailer and confirmed the simultaneous launch of a massive free update for the main adventure.

With the arrival of this massive paid DLC, the core experience will expand considerably, offering us dozens of hours of unreleased content and allowing us to delve into areas that the series had never explored in almost twenty years of history. We will once again take on the role of Skif, the protagonist of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, pushed by a mysterious radio signal towards events parallel to the main plot. We will have to explore unknown places, interact with unexpected allies, repel new threats and collect powerful weapons in a new chapter, where our choices will directly shape the future of the Zone.

In conjunction with the expansion, we will also receive the full-bodied Update 2.0 for free. This patch will bring a long series of improvements, adding new content to the game, also marking the transition to an updated version of Unreal Engine 5, to push the visual impact of the title even further.
