Ahead of the official launch of Code Vein II, set for January 30, Bandai Namco has today released a new and interesting overview of the game. The footage focuses on the main features that will help us survive in the post-apocalyptic world of the game, delving into combat systems, exploration and customization options.

Before analyzing the game mechanics, a very interesting news concerns the availability of a specific trial version: starting from January 23 it will in fact be possible to download a "Character Creator Demo" for free. This version will allow us to access the vast character creation system in advance, taking care of every detail of our protagonist, from body type to facial expressions, up to makeup, hairstyles and accessories. We will have 64 save slots available and, crucially, we will be able to transfer our creations directly to the full game once purchased.

Moving on to the action shown in the video, the combat system promises to give us a lot of control over the style of play. We will be able to define our approach to battle by combining different weapons, artifacts, Formae and the famous Blood Codes. Also in this chapter, cooperation with the AI-controlled partner will be crucial: companions will not only have specific strengths and weaknesses to consider tactically, but will be essential for our survival thanks to the "Restorative Offering" mechanic, which will allow them to restore our health in critical situations.

On the setting front, we will find ourselves traveling to a world on the verge of collapse interacting with legendary heroes of the past to try to save the future. Locations revealed include evocative locations such as the ruins of the Sunken City, the Forest of Undeath, the Corroded Scar, and MagMell Island.
