Code Vein II: Game Overview, Gameplay Details, and Upcoming Demos

With the launch now upon us, scheduled for January 30, Bandai Namco has released a full-bodied video dedicated to Code Vein II that allows us to take an in-depth look at the game mechanics and atmosphere of this sequel, showing us the journey of the Hunter of revenants between past and present in the difficult attempt to avert the destruction of the world.

In this new adventure we will have to explore suggestive and vast settings such as the Sunken Pylon, an area that hides the fundamental key to being able to purify the Sunken City. The story will take us back a hundred years, allowing us to join Josée in her mission to clean up the city's contaminated waters and discover the truth behind the crisis that grips her. Through Josée's story, we'll discover the weight of her past sins and the difficult epic challenges we'll face alongside her.

On the combat system front, we will be able to count on a varied arsenal consisting of seven different types of weapons, ranging from the new and agile double blades to the devastating halberd. To these are added the Formae, special abilities divided into three categories: offensive, defensive and inherited. To be able to use them we will have to carefully manage the Icore, a vital resource that we can actively recover by taking advantage of the draining attack mechanic during clashes.

A central element of the experience will be the companion system, which will allow us to seamlessly switch between summoning an ally to fight alongside us to absorbing their specific war skills. Our companions will be precious even in the most critical moments thanks to the Restorative Offering: if we fall in battle, they will in fact be able to bring us back to life by sacrificing a part of their health. However, this maneuver will require a cooldown during which the companion will be temporarily unable to act and help us further.

But that's not all: for those who can't wait to start shaping their protagonist, Bandai has announced the Code Vein II Character Creator Demo, which will be available starting January 23rd. In this trial version we will be able to create our own custom Revenant Hunter and save it, so that we can then transfer it to the full version at launch. In addition to character creation, we'll have the chance to explore the MagMell Institute, pose in Photo Mode, or relax at the Thermal Baths. A great way to pass the wait before the debut of the game.

We leave you to the video and a new set of images; enjoy!
