Resident Evil Requiem: the developers show us and illustrate the gameplay of the title
In the video, the developers explain that the heart of the experience will be an "addictive fear", with horror being the central element of the gameplay. The team also revealed new details about the series' protagonist , Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst described as introverted and easily scared, thus introducing a new type of character to the saga. We will experience the horror from its own perspective, learning to overcome our fears throughout history. Although shy, Grace is still trained in the use of firearms and uses her deductive reasoning to keep her cool under pressure.
The development team has placed great emphasis on achieving an unprecedented level of realism, taking care of meticulous details such as the blush on Grace's face when she is upside down or the natural movement of her hair, modeled using a custom-made wig as a reference. One of the most interesting features is that we can freely switch between first-person and third-person perspectives for the duration of the game. We will thus be able to experience the horror up close and in a more realistic way with the first-person view, or use the camera over the shoulder of the third person to create a more action-focused gaming experience.
Set 30 years after the U.S. government destroyed Raccoon City with a missile to contain the t-virus outbreak, Resident Evil Requiem is intended as a tribute to the many characters involved in the original incident, who lost their lives or were drastically changed by it. As the series' 30th anniversary approaches in March 2026, this installment marks a new milestone for the franchise.
Resident Evil Requiem is expected for February 27, 2026; We leave you to the video.
