That 2K had some problems with the WWE 2K franchise we understood already last year, when WWE 2K20 did not prove to be up to the name it brings due to the change of developer from Yuke's to Visual Concepts and now we have confirmation that the American company wants to take more time to get the series back on track, thus skipping this year's release.

To announce it is not 2K but the WWE itself, in the person of CFO Frank Riddick who stated during a conference with shareholders that this year there will not be a new game dedicated to WWE.

Fans of the bombastic wrestling world will then have to take a break this year, hoping for a big comeback from next year!
