Rare announced today that Sea of Thieves,the popular online pirate game that has been released for almost two years, has recently reached the 10 million unique players who have played it since the launch of the title to date. These are obviously not contemporary players, but it is testament to the great interest, or at least the curiosity, that the title arouses in the public, prompting the players to try it at least once.

Obviously a lot of this is due to the Game Pass, the Microsoft service that broke the "economic barrier" between players and the titles within it.

To celebrate the event, the team announced that all players who log into the game between January 15 and 22 will receive two exclusive celebratory items: a special flag and a new emote.

And, despite the two years since launch, Rare doesn't seem willing to stop supporting the game: the team is in fact looking for new members to help push the title forward in the future, a sign that we'll probably continue with our pirate raids even during the next generation!

We just have to congratulate the British team, with a warm AHHRRRR!!!
