Microsoft reveals some of the latest in the October update of Xbox One

Microsoft tonight released the new update in testing for members of the Alpha and Alpha-Skip Ahead ring members of the Xbox One preview program, including some of the new features that will be part of the console's October update. We'll list them below.

  • Notifications from the Preferences List:The notification of the games on sale has been added to its Preferences Listlist. Now whenever a game you have on the list is discounted, you will receive an alert on the Dashboard that will alert you of the offer.
  • Direct viewing on the Mixer page:If you find an interesting video on the Mixer main page, you can now watch it directly on that page without having to open the Mixer app to see it.
  • Improvements to the Recent Players list:The list of players recently met on Live has now been improved and made more reliable, allowing us to quickly connect with anyone we've met and allowing us to send them a add them to friends, or invite them into a group more easily.
  • More Flexible Capture Options:There are now more options in the console settings to allow gameplay capture. We can choose what types of catches are allowed: those made by us, those made by games or by us, or none.
  • Game Pass Games Tip:An option has been added that allows you to recommend to your friends the Game Pass titles that you have found to be particularly deserving.
  • Improvements to the game update process: Now the game update experience will be less "intrusive", and the occasions when a game will be blocked at startup because an update is available will be significantly reduced, allowing the download the update in the background while you're playing.

These are not new features that distort the use of the console, but they are still small improvements that it is certainly nice to have. What do you think?
