Rumor: Modern Warfare will have a free-to-play BR, the 2020 CoD will return to the Cold War

Ahead of the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on October 25, interesting rumours emerge today about the future of Activision's war series. The first is tied to the new Infinity Ward title: according to recent rumours, it would seem that in early 2020 a downloadable Battle Royale mode will arrive asa separate and free game.

ThisModern Warfare Battle Royalewill therefore have an entirely free-to-play structure, so as to compete with even arms with titles such as Apex and Fortnite, but it will still be linked in some way to the paid game; It is also very likely that it will support full cross-play, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will also do so.

The second rumor is related to the CoD coming in 2020, apparently entrusted to Treyarch after a series of problems had by the original teams, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software;according to these new rumors the game will be a full reboot of Black Ops and could be called CoD: Black Ops or CoD: Black Ops V. As such, the game will be set during the Cold War and the story will cover a time span of over 40years; It seems, however, that this new game will be even more controversial and raw than Modern Warfare, which seems to include many bloody and shocking scenes.

To have a confirmation of these rumours we will probably have to wait until the end of the year or early next year for the first, while the second will probably not be confirmed before May-June 2020; stay tuned!
