10 news revealed by Metro Exodus

Under cover exclusively at Metro Exodus , Game Informer has published a very interesting list on 10 news that we will find in the new title by Deep Silver and 4A Games, waited on our console later this year. We thus discover new aspects of gameplay not present in previous chapters, but also characteristics of gameplay to which we were accustomed and that now we find more. Here's the complete list!

Metro Exodus : the 10 new

  • 1: no more Metro -despite the name of the series, Metro Exodus will no longer set in the metro of Moscow as the previous two chapters. Ukrainians of 4A Games have decided to propose different environments and more varied in terms of both landscape and climate, so in the new episode we'll see the hero Artyom, his love Anna, who in the novel Metro 2035 we discover getting married , and other survivors to explore the vastness of Russia aboard a train, looking for a new hope. This will allow us to discover new and huge explorable areas, dangerous enemy factions and many new survivors.
  • 2: a huge world, but not open -Thanks to this change in settings, much larger Metro Exodus becomes of previous games, but clearly that this is not a specification 4A only, huge world open world. The game world consists of a series of huge sandbox areas connected by March of history: once we have completed the tasks in an area it is time to move on to the next, without the possibility of return to previous areas unless do not restart the game (for now we don't know anything about a possible new game plus mode). Each of these areas is still very wide, it is about two square kilometres each (at Last Light , the largest area was 200x100 meters) and freely browsable.
  • 3: no more ammo-rate -in the metro of Moscow military munitions were used as money to buy weapons, reinvigorate them and obtain other necessities. This led us to save bullets in combat for not running out of precious currency. Outside of Moscow, however, this economy has been replaced by a search system and reselling discarded objects similar to the Fallout series. Looking inside the world we can find two kinds of resources, materials and chemicals, exchangeable into other characters or that can be used to create tools, bullets and other useful items at special work tables.
  • 4: fights improved -the new title will again, as in the past, to choose between direct and violent action or a stealth approach, but we now have more options available to us. We can for example choose between killing and culling non-lethal, so how you can work around and avoid completely some enemies. Also the animations of enemies hit by our bullets, and attacks of various types are now much more varied changing depending on the weapon used, the speed of our attack and our proximity to the enemy. Also the game will track now for our actions: If we start to kill all those who belong to a certain faction, the remaining members will be much more hostile to us, while avoiding to kill them will meet less resistance from their friends.
  • 5: a hub that travels with us -No longer the Moscow metro, there are even more stations than in previous games were used as "hubs", in which we could be tooled up, talking with key people and carry out different activities. Now our operational base travel with us: is the Aurora train , full of refugees and which will lead us in our journey through Russia. The Aurora will not be a static environment: will change constantly adding carriages of different types and new refugees from station to station, offering us so always new tasks.
  • 6: use of vehicles -in the new adventure we will pilot several vehicles but for now developers are abbottonatissimi on how many and what will be. All we know is that one of them will be a boat usable on a Lake, but there will be others.
  • 7: the story unfolds over the course of a year --while Metro: 2033 and Last Light took place over the course of a few days, the adventure of Metro Exodus will take place over the course of an entire year, allowing us to experience the passing of seasons in Russian territories. In winter such as we explore an imposing mountain infested with mutant bears will visit a desert in summer to Mad Max.
  • 8: modular weapons -While the previous games we saw buy upgrades to weapons and find new ones on the field but without being able to modify accessories in Exodus we can dismantle the weapons found to reuse the parts (viewfinders, Chargers etc) to improve the weapons in our possession. Of course you can also buy specific improvements for our weapons. The weapons can also get dirty and worn, so if we want to avoid that they become less effective or accurate (will never stop working, anyway) during a battle we have to make sure that we keep them in good condition at the Workbench.
  • 9: secondary Tours -the game will not have the real "quests", but the vast locations will offer us many explorable areas outside of the main story in which we can discover new tasks and missions. Often we will find some notes about specific locations, and going for them we will be able to discover new adventures, store and perhaps more powerful equipment.
  • 10: the factions are more isolated -If in previous games the enemy factions were more interconnected and hostile, because of the great distances that we find in most isolated factions Metro Exodus and self-contained, but also very different from each other (such as a faction consists of religious fanatics who idolize the enormous fish that lives in a Lake). Through our actions we will have the opportunity to forge the friendship or enmity with each faction, and this will not affect the factions will meet later.
