One of the great absent onstage Microsoft during E3 was 343 Industries , software houses linked to the Halo franchise. In fact, apart from a new expansion of Halo Wars 2 , no announcement on a new chapter concerning the main saga was done. And it seems that this will not happen even in the short term.

In a blog post published on Halo Waypoint , J eff Easterling of 343 Industries said that the announcement of the new chapter of Halo will not happen anytime soon, barring absolutely and with any certainty the Gamescom and PAX .

In all likelihood, with certain exceptions, it is highly likely that Halo 6 will be announced next year, E3 2018, with the expected output in the next one.

This reflects the new strategy declared by Phil Spencer , head of Microsoft 's Xbox Division, announced that the company will show their AAA securities only when the release date will be close and absolutely reliable, thus avoiding the mistakes that happened with Scalebound and Fable Legends , titles, long-awaited by fans, crushed by the weight of their own Hype and from the long and troubled gestation before being deleted.
