EA: Star Wars Battlefront will have a sequel in 2017, will be tied to new film

On the occasion of the financial report of fiscal year 2016, Electronic Arts has unveiled, as well as the number of copies sold for Star Wars: Battlefront amounting to 14 million well, future plans for the sequel. The publisher has confirmed that a new game in the series is already under development and will be released in 2017.

The Publisher has also explained that the new Battlefront will move away from the original trilogy of Lucas and will instead be tied to the awakening of Strength and future films (episode VIII and episode IX) arriving in theaters in 2017 and 2019 respectively.

The release of the film Star Wars: the awakening of the force has contributed to the increase in sales of the game, initially planned at around 10 million copies. It will be interesting to see how and whether the study will treasure of criticism received for Star Wars: Battlefront . The lack of space battles was a sore point for fans as were the absence of a single-player campaign and the lack of content to launch.

At the moment there are no other details about the game as there is not yet an official title, but we will keep you updated of course.
