Bandai Namco opened the Xbox Partner Preview event with the reveal of the gameplay of Unknown 9: Awakening, an Indian-themed action-adventure announced three years ago and of which nothing had been heard since, confirming that the game will arrive on Xbox in the summer.

Unknown 9: Awakening is a third-person narrative action-adventure game that follows the story of Haroona, a Quaestor born with the ability to venture into the Reverse: a mysterious dimension that overlaps with our own. On her quest to unravel a powerful hidden knowledge, she will learn to master her unique connection to the Reverse, which will allow her to channel her powers into our world. But this ability of his certainly could not go unnoticed. Haroona soon becomes the target of the Ascendants, a splinter faction of a secret organization known as the Leap Year Society, who want to use the Reverse to alter the course of human history.

Players will take on the role of Haroona on her adventurous journey to right the wrongs of the past. During the mission, they will be able to choose whether to ambush opponents in the shadows or fight by entering their bodies to control them, dodge projectiles, block attacks, and devise creative combat combinations to customize their playstyle.

Also participating in the project is the talented Anya Chalotra, who plays Haroona, the daring protagonist of the game. The actress' ability to bring to life quite strong female characters made her an obvious choice when deciding on the protagonist of Unknown 9: Awakening.

Unknown 9: Awakening is the main entry point to the vast narrative universe of the Unknown 9 IP, which includes a series of interconnected adventures told through comics, podcasts, novels, and much more.
