New details about Dishonored 2 from Game Informer

The latest issue of Game Informer reveals new details on the new job of Arkane Studios Dishonored 2, slated for November 11 on Xbox One .  Dishonored 2 takes place 15 years after the first chapter: following the events of the previous game, Crow Attano, the protagonist of the game, worried that people would try to assassinate the Empress Emily Kaldwin, the other protagonist of the sequel, spent 15 years tests to become a skilled Assassin.

The game at the start puts us in the shoes of Emily who tries to escape a coup. You can then choose whether to play with the character of Emily and reclaim his throne, or how Crow always with the aim to help her return to power. This is a single-player game and there is no co-op mode. While the beginning is set to Dunwall, the majority of the game takes place in Karnaca, a city inspired by European countries of the Mediterranean, the birthplace of Crow.

Structure of the missions is similar to the first game. There will be a main villain and you'll get information or help from other characters to accomplish our goal. The missions have a variety of options for completing and game progress. There will be neutral areas where you can go around and talk to the citizens to get suggestions on our mission. The base of operations will be a boat. Abilities will be unlocked through a tree. Emily, being a new character in the series, has a new set of powers to play with. Here are a few:

  • "Far Reach" -A giant hand grapple for navigating physically through spaces and swing around objects. Given the emphasis of the game on verticality, these movements are particularly important.
  • "Mesmerize" -stun more guards temporarily.
  • "Domino" -connects four guards together, and everything that we do to one happens to others.
  • "Doppelganger" -creates a clone of themselves. You can use this ability along with that Domino to connect our clone to the guards and then blown up.
  • "Shadow Walk" -allows you to sneak in the shadows and squeeze into tight spaces.

Raven has the same powers as the first game, but upgraded and expanded. His ability to "bend time" can now also speed up the time, and his ability to "possession" can now be chained between creatures so that we can move from one to another. His "Blink" can assassinate someone through a glass window starting at level 1. Both Emily that Crow have a pistol, sword and crossbow, but look different.

The stealth and non-lethal options have been expanded to be on par with the amount of lethal options available in the game. The guards are much more intelligent and can climb over objects to chase us. You can also use them as human shields, or hide them to avoid suspicion.

Here are more details about the game:

  • The final and the system of morality will be better.
  • There will be fast saves and fast loading between checkpoints.
  • Dishonored 2 runs on a modified version of the IDTech 5 who have nicknamed him "the engine of Void."
