But enough of the cold lists! Here's the incredible detail on some of the new content of Afterbirth released today by Edmund McMillen.

How Greed

How Greed is a totally new game modes. In it you will face random waves of enemies that appear in the room. These waves will be of increasing difficulty and will continue to accumulate: the only way to stop them is to get to the eighth wave, press the stop button ... or die.

Most waves will face without press the stop button, the more higher the cash reward, which will grow further if you can eliminate all enemies without taking damage. After the eighth wave you can catch your breath and spend your hard-earned cash. You will also see that the button will become mysteriously in a skull!

Pressing the skull starts the "boss waves", a simple (the usual difficulties for a boss that chapter) and a medium (usually a easy level bosses along with some enemies). You will have much more time to defeat these waves but, depending on your speed, you will have a greater chance of seeing appear the second boss next to the first. However, if things get too difficult, you can always sacrifice half heartedly to delay the arrival of the next wave.

After you delete the waves boss, the exit door will open and you can proceed to the next level ... or choose to deal with the "wave nightmare bosses" in order to unlock the door to the room.

Every room of Greed is totally new mode: cursed rooms contain surprises not seen, the secret rooms give more rewards, while the content of demonic rooms is something that you have never seen before. In fact, all Greed-time objects are totally unpublished and have been completely adjust to fit perfectly in this mode.

In essence, how Greed is a totally new experience: not only you will get new rewards by supplementing it with each character, but you will see an absolutely new ending that will make you want to play again and again.

Daily Run

Have you ever used the "seed" in Rebirth? Well, the Daily runs are basically of seed per day apply to anyone playing that day.

Every day, Afterbirth will generate a new game that is accessible to anyone with the game. What makes the Daily Run other than seed is the fact that the first will be absolutely the same for everyone, in every aspect.

No matter what you have or have not unlocked: the Daily Run does not follow the rules! Here everyone plays at the same level! If you want to deal with Mega Satan immediately after starting to play, you can do it!

In addition to be equal for everyone, the Daily Run will have to be addressed with a specific character chosen from those available (including The Lost, but only on rare occasions) that everyone will be forced to use for that day. The Daily Run, just like the seed, not give any progress of the game, so if you want to unlock more content is better deal before the main game.

The best part of the Daily Run is that in Afterbirth, will have the charts for them, so you can see your results in terms of score, time, or both!

New enemies

In Afterbirth you meet a bunch of new enemies and bosses, including alternate versions of existing competitors.

Little Horn, for example, is an interesting new demonic boss who uses an AI very particular and also has more attacks than regular boss. It's probably one of the funniest bosses to deal with.

There are also five new champions in Afterbirth! In Isaac, samples are twice the size of normal enemies, do damage to a whole heart, have twice the health and usually when they defeated drop something special.

New objects

There will be new cards, pills, runes, bombs, hearts, chests, and even new types of objects that you will meet and/or unlock in one of 10 new challenges.

  • Diplopia -Diplopia is a new very interesting effects: double single use items and rewards. I certainly don't want to have two copies of each object, but in some cases it can be very useful to have an extra one.
  • The Friend Ball (the ball of friendship) will kill any enemy (except bosses) trapping him into a ball. If you will, will fight by your side until the room!
  • Dead Eye is a subject suggested by our fans that increases damage caused to each consecutive shot and, if you play well, turns your tears in deadly red balls.

Alternative levels

One of the most interesting features of the main mode of Afterbirth are alternative levels. As many of you may know, when each set of existing alternative has a chapter levels (for example, the counterpart of the level "basement", the dungeons, is "cellar" la cantina). Alternate each chapter has its own set of layers, its own theme and enemies almost exclusive.

We wanted to add more similar content, but without tangling too things with a third alternative set for each chapter. In Afterbirth, then, each chapter will have a Variant that will carry at most any issue you are facing, so whether you are in the basement or in the cellar, there will be a small chance that the level at which you are turning into a new variant of Afterbirth.

In addition to look very different, the Burning level Basement (basement on fire) presents a variety of changes. There is a good chance that many different enemies become "alternative" and in flames. All new alternative will have different stats and attacks enemies and there's a slight chance that the rocks become pools of fire. Might seem like small changes, but these levels work in all respects as "samples" of varying degrees, making things a bit more difficult but also giving you the opportunity to earn rewards. All alternative levels will also have new music, new graphics and effects.

That's all for now! Thanks for your attention!
