The Chinese Room announces the development of exploratory adventure console Dear Esther

The fascinating adventure Dear Esther, after being out on PCs in 2012, prepares to land on Xbox One is the developer announced this year; The Chinese Room in collaboration with the publisher Turns Digital.

The game was released before Everybody's Gone To The Rapture , and puts players in the shoes of a tormented man who must explore a remote island in the Hebrides of Scotland with the aim to reconstruct the chain of events that led to the death of his wife.  The console version will see the debut of a new Director with replays of the game accompanied by an audio retrospective of game development provided by members of the original team.

This new version also profiting by "tweaks" in the aspect of the game to suit the tastes of the audience console. " We always knew that Dear Esther would continue its story ," said Dan Pinchbeck of The Chinese Room, " and we are pleased to write that story with the help of Digital Curves. Dear Esther is a very important game for us, so it's nice to know that it is in very capable hands. We are excited to see the reaction of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players ".
