Dontnod releases the first images and new details for Vampyr

Dontnod Entertainment , the development studio behind Remember Me and the acclaimed Life is Strange , has released four new screenshots of his next promising project, Vampyr . The game will put us in the shoes of Jonathan e. Reid, military surgeon returning from the front, transformed into a creature of the night.

Set during the Spanish flu that struck Europe in the early 20th century, the game will see us moving to a bleak and picturesque London, carry out several missions, interact with various characters and decide whether or not to quench our thirst for blood. Sacrificing characters who meet to quench our thirst will give us new powers vampireschi, but the killing of major or minor characters could have repercussions on the history and the environment around us.

Use excessively vampire powers weaken Jonathan up to need to feed, no easy task. Once you have chosen the unsuspecting victim (which can be any NPCS that populate the game scenario), you'll have to follow it, understand its habits, seduce her and then feed it to his first misstep. This game mechanic is very reminiscent of the vampire novels where the creature of the night playing with his victim before killing her. If Dontnod manages to create a living, breathing, the need to feed London could become stimulating instead of boring and repetitive.

There will be also a combat system with edged weapons and supernatural powers to help defend against hunters or from other vampires hostile towards us. There will also be a crafting system to enhance our melee weapons, equipment and guards to improve the resistance of the protagonist.

The game is to be released in 2017: we leave you to the first four produce series released.
