Rumor Control: the image that reveals Red Dead Redemption backwards compatible is probably fake

Last night an anonymous source has published on image upload site, imgur , an image that would portray the version backward compatible for Xbox One of masterpiece western of Rockstar Games , Red Dead Redemption ; the news has started to go around the web, sparking enthusiastic reactions, but unfortunately it is probably a fake.

Aside from the dubious origin of the image itself, there are two factors that lead to understand that almost surely we are dealing with a fake.

First there is the fact that Microsoft itself had in the past put his hands on explaining that it was not possible to insert Red Dead Redemption among the backward compatible for Xbox One because of an issue of licenses. But even if they had passed that hurdle, there is a particular image that leads us to doubt his veracity.

As you can see, in fact, the image of the game lacks the classic Xbox 360 logo side band who all backwards, indicating precisely which are titles released on the earlier home console Microsoft . This tells us that whoever created that image has not been paying attention to this detail very important.

We encourage you to exercise caution if you read headlines elsewhere: rejoice not at least until there is an official release by Microsoft or Rockstar Games , or at least until more reliable rumor will come.
