Rumor: Microsoft may launch an Xbox compatible TV Store

In the past they felt repeatedly rumor about a phantom "Xbox Light" or "Xbox TV" that, no disk drive, would work only with digital titles and media apps. These rumors have never turned into reality, but now comes another by mouth of American blogger Brad Sams, seemingly very well connected to inside sources at Microsoft.

Sams said, in an article published in Petri , he received from his contacts in the House of Redmond the tip that in 2016 would get a Special Edition Xbox One of small size and low cost, only compatible with apps on the Store, to be positioned as a competitor to the Apple TV.

The recovery console is not able to run any play Xbox One, but merely reproduces games and apps on the Store-which, remember, should soon arrive on Xbox One with Universal Apps , that will allow developers to build apps that run on both Windows 10 that on Windows Phone than on Xbox One.

This is just yet another of the rumor that suggest a similar scenario, and it is said that is also reflected in the reality: after all, Sony has already tried to follow a similar path with its PlayStation TV but without meeting out of favor, so I don't think there is a large market for this type of devices. We will keep you updated.
