A demonstration of the new Xbox interface One E3

One of the most interesting announcements made by Microsoft at E3 was the arrival of a new interface, expected in the autumn with the Windows console update 10, that will change radically the way in which we use the console also improving overall performance.

Apart from the short trailer released at the time, Microsoft has also played a more detailed demonstration of the new interface that you can see in the video below; here a member of console development team, Richard Irving, explains some of the innovations that we will find in the update.

The page is completely in English, but even if you have problems in understanding the language view however some very interesting feature of the new interface. Let's elencarvele:

  • 0:40-it shows the new Home screen, where the tile is resized Windows style in favour of a structure that promotes better access to content of our games and app. As you can see there is still the largest box showing the currently executing game flanked by three tile by Store content or advertising, but in the foreground there is the list of games and apps run recently, vertical scorribili: for each of these shows the list of friends that are playing, the game link and hub/clips recently captured screenshot In addition to an area dedicated to announcements from the developers. For example, when it released a game patch will notify developers in that area and also show the complete list of fixes in patch. Continuing to iterate over the list of recent games you can then access the Collection, the area of the games and app installed, and also to our pin, which are now no longer positioned to the left of the home but at the bottom of the list.
  • 1:50-here we find the new area Community, designed to keep us in touch with our friends and the Xbox community. Here we find the feed of all our friends, where even the developers themselves can make posts and ads, while the right column find the Trending area that shows the most viewed videos, most played games, future appointments and so on.
  • 2:22-we make knowledge with the new Guide , a menu that will appear on the left side of the screen from both the dashboards that during the games and that, through a series of sections arranged vertically, will allow us to quickly access friends list and party, notifications, messages, and various settings like the chat volume control and adjustable game separately. Finally there is also the section to tile applications, which as always will appear on the right of the screen.
  • 04:08-shows us some examples of Cortana, the Narrator can be used via Kinect (initially available only in USA and UK, and subsequently in other countries): here we see how you can find a friend and invite them to a group, or you can record and share a clip everything without ever leaving the game and using a normal conversational language.

During the demonstration you can also see how the avatars will be most visible: for example the player's avatar (top right) will be an animated avatar instead of a static image, and we can also see those of our friends in the Community area.

Obviously this is only a first look at some of the innovations that lie ahead in the new Xbox experience One , and more will be revealed in the coming months. Waiting to read more we leave you the video: good vision.
