Rumor: Phil Harrison leaves Microsoft

The British site GamesIndustry.biz has learned from multiple sources that Phil Harrison, the Microsoft Executive in charge of the supervision of European development studies, is about to leave the company for reasons not yet understood. For now there are no official communication about Harrison himself refused to comment on the news, but it seems that the thing is due to a multiplicity of factors.

The first factor selected was a lack of career advancement for the leader: Harrison had been hired by the previous head of the Xbox Division, Don Mattrick, who was a good friend: it is likely that Mattrick had outlined a certain career within Microsoft, but with the arrival of Phil Spencer these plans should be skipped and it seems that Harrison was not very happy.

In the second plea concerning the closure would instead by Microsoft London study Lift London, which Harrison had helped set up with the aim of creating titles for the tablet Surface. Microsoft decided recently to terminate the study and merge it with Soho Productions, dedicated to creating interactive television-style experience (like the Kinect title Sesame Street ), but there were also several redundancies and this would have helped push Harrison on the resignation.

For now there are still official information and everything is still at the level of rumor and speculation: we will update you when there are new.
