Microsoft announced the DirectX 12: Xbox support One confirmed, first details

Microsoft has recently concluded GDC intervention dedicated to new DirectX graphics libraries 12, and as expected, it was announced that they will support even the Xbox One. MS explains that the main purpose of DX 12 is to "reduce the distance" between programmers and the hardware itself, allowing it to exploit it more efficiently: a philosophy, then, very similar to the libraries Mantle of AMD.

Entering specifically Xbox support One, Microsoft has explained that improving the way in which the games "speak" with the hardware and introducing greater multiprocessor process optimization, the DX 12 will mark an improvement in performance in all titles that support Xbox One: not only the GPU and memory will be exploited more efficiently, but also the CPU will enjoy a boost in performance you can get in extreme cases even at 50%even if you think that in the vast majority of cases will be about 20%. In addition to performance gains, new libraries also will introduce new rendering features, allowing the use of effects not possible with DX 11.

Before you can see the benefits from DirectX 12 but we will have to wait a while: Microsoft talks end as 2015 period when you will begin to see the first titles that will exploit, while developers can start to "hacking" since the coming months.
