Raccoon City, chat with Masachika Kawata

On the occasion of the arrival of the game in stores, Xbox Community Network has given us a brief series of questions and answers with Masachika Kawata, the producer of Resident Evil: Raccoon City Operation . I propose the following, translated into Italian.

In the game there are six playable characters. What is your favorite and why?
Mine is Vector. I love its design that embodies the look of the U.S.S ( Umbrella Security Service, ndt ), and his ability to stealth camouflage is excellent to introduce inexperienced players.

We know that there will be different types of enemies in Raccoon City. Can you tell us something about it?
I can't go into detail, but you might see creatures related to Resident Evil 4 ...

How have you addressed the Resident Evil timeline when you had to decide how to sell RC?
Our starting point was Raccoon City, a place well known by fans of the series. From this it was natural to the game between Resident Evil 2 and 3.

Could you tell us what inspired you while creating the game? In that way the previous titles have influenced the writing process?
RE: ORC focuses on shootings in third person much more than any title Resident Evil title. Then we design it in such a way as to satisfy all the will of a Resident Evil. This has led us to create a parallel history.

When you announced Resident Evil 6 have made many fans happy. What would you say to the players, who now might want to wait only Ke6, to convince them to play even with Resident Evil: Raccoon City Operation? Why we should play this instead of waiting for the release of Ke6?
Resident Evil: Raccoon City Operation offers a unique perspective on the world of Resident Evil. It is not just a normal third-person shooter, because the world of Resident Evil allows us to add a third component in the field, in the form of zombies and B.O.W. The player must constantly be on guard both by humans from infected creatures. In addition, the game offers an immersive multiplayer experience, with campaign playable in four-player co-op and Versus mode for team battles for up to eight players. There is a lot to keep fans busy waiting for the launch of Ke6, and also introduces a completely new direction. Controls and style of play will be very familiar for Xbox 360 players.

Lone Wolf makes his first appearance in "Resident Evil: Raccoon City" Operation as playable character, along with other characters from "Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis", but what's his story and how he came to Raccoon City?
Lone Wolf is a helicopter pilot of the U.S.S. and only appears in competitive multiplayer. Resident Evil has always reserved a horrible fate at the helicopter in the past ... about Lone Wolf, who knows?

Can you tell us some interesting anecdote from game development?
This was the first time I worked with a developer, and I learned a lot about the positive and negative sides of development made in Japan. I hope to bring with me this experience and use it to create the best games in the future.
