Oltre a essere sede di novità sul futuro dell'industria videoludica per quel che riguarda tecnologie e sviluppo di hardware e software, la Game Developers Conference porta con sè anche i nomi dei vincitori dei Game Developer's Choice Awards. Quest'anno Rockstar si aggiudica i premi più ambiti: Best Game, Best Game Design, Best Technology e Best Audio grazie al visivamente sbalorditivo Red Dead Redemption, mentre Bioware si aggiudica il Best Writing con Mass Effect 2.
