Mortal Shell II arrives in August and shows itself in a new trailer

Cold Symmetry and Playstack have finally unveiled the release date of Mortal Shell II, the long-awaited and violent dark fantasy action-RPG that we will be able to play from August 20th. The announcement is accompanied by a new and fascinating trailer, embellished with the notes of the song "Darker Thoughts" from Paradise Lost.

The movie offers us a first complete overview of the playable "shells", confirming the presence of eight dormant forms of forgotten warriors that we can awaken and possess within the game world. Taking advantage of their unique abilities and innate strengths, we will have to evolve our fighting style and unravel the secrets hidden in their lost memories. Among the characters shown are Lazlo the Lawbringer, Sariel the Infinite and Smert the Apostate. This standalone sequel, which has been in development for over four years, will not require any knowledge of the first Mortal Shell to be fully appreciated.

A compact but expansive, interconnected and handcrafted open world awaits us, designed specifically to respect our time and full of over sixty dungeons. Exploring winding paths defended by fanatics and desperate, we will be able to come across new narrative elements, powerful and bizarre weapons, power-ups and curiosities. Combat, both melee and ranged, promises to be brutal and high-intensity: there will be no stamina restrictions, which will allow us to take advantage of multiple tactics to break the posture of enemies and inflict lethal critical hits.

As for the versions available, the base game will be priced at 49,99 Euros. There will also be a digital Devout Edition for 59,99 Euros, which will include eight Obsidian skins for the shells and will grant us early access up to 72 hours before the general release.

We leave you to the video and a set of images, enjoy!
