Milestone delves into Screamer gameplay in new video

Milestone today released new details about its innovative arcade racing game, Screamer, through a speech by Game Director Federico Cardini and Development & Creative Director Michele Caletti. In the video, the two developers explored the vision behind the project and the unique gameplay mechanics that will characterize it.

One of the main innovations discussed is the "Twin Stick" control system. This system will allow us to manage steering and drifting independently: we will be able to use an analog stick for precise curves and the other for the most radical maneuvers, combining the two techniques for a level of control far superior to that of traditional titles of the genre.

As explained in the video, the heart of the Screamer experience lies in the teams made up of three characters, each with a leader supported by two members. While the members' cars will be more focused on combat dynamics, the leaders' cars are designed for maximum speed and performance, offering a different challenge to master. With 15 different cars, each with unique abilities, it will be essential to find the character that best suits our playstyle.

The characters' abilities find their roots in the narrative structure, which also introduces a fundamental element of the gameplay: the "Echo System". This technology, installed on each vehicle, powers both racing and combat mechanics via two types of resources: Sync and Entropy. Once accumulated, the Sync can be used to power up and protect us, while the Entropy will power two offensive actions called Strike and Overdrive. Milestone will delve into this system, which is fundamental to the plot and gameplay, in a second part of the interview.

We leave you to the video, remembering that Screamer is expected in 2026. Enjoy the viewing!
