11 bit studios announced today that its long-awaited strategy-management title, Frostpunk 2, will arrive on Xbox on September 18th, also confirming its arrival in Game Pass at launch and also revealing the arrival of two physical editions for collectors.

The development team has placed particular emphasis on the game interface for the console versions, thanks to the experience gained with the port of the first chapter. The goal was to further refine the circular interface to make it even more navigable and intuitive, allowing us to guide politics and the inhabitants of New London with maximum fluidity via the controller. Several improvements have been introduced to adapt the controls to the gamepad, such as the ability to scroll through districts of the same type with the dorsal buttons or a dynamic radial menu that appears on resources and presents specific actions.

The developers have also confirmed that, thanks to a collaboration with Skybound Games, the game will also be available in physical format with two collector's editions: the Icebreaker Edition will include the full game on disc, a New London pop-up diorama, the digital novella "Warm Flesh" and a digital artbook with the background of the creation of the game. The richest edition, the Whiteout Edition, on the other hand, will contain all the elements of the Icebreaker inside a multi-level shadow box with LED lighting. In addition, this edition will include an upgrade to the Deluxe Edition with access to three future DLCs, a metal and enamel keychain, two art postcards, themed stickers and one of two embroidered patches of the game's factions: the disciplined Technocrats or the fervent Icebloods.
