Publisher Templar Media and developer Bible X today announced Gate Zero, a time-travel-based action-adventure that will take us to a decidedly unusual setting for a video game: biblical Israel.

The adventure begins in a dystopian future, in the year 2072, where a global authoritarian regime controls and censors all kinds of information, banning anything that questions its version of the truth. In this scenario we will play Max, a young orphan who, after the arrest of his grandmother for the possession of a forbidden book - the Bible - discovers a time machine hidden by his deceased parents.

The invention will catapult us back in time to 30 AD, in ancient Israel. Here we will be able to explore historically accurate cities, such as Jerusalem and the Galilee, to find out if the stories whispered by grandmother really happened. During our journey we will have to move through the lively markets, escape the Roman soldiers and even fight the agents of the futuristic regime, who have also gone back in time to erase history. We will also witness the miracles of Jesus, all while fighting an evil determined to eliminate the past and the memories of those who lived in it.

In short, a decidedly unusual premise for a title that, at least visually, it would not be difficult to confuse with an Assassin's Creed. See for yourself in the trailer and in the images below!
