Here we are again: according to a recent rumor, it seems that a new price increase for Xbox Game Pass may be coming. Microsoft has adjusted the price of the service several times in recent years, with the last increase taking place in September 2024 after some rumors about it had circulated the previous May and the official announcement was made in July.

Today comes a clue in this regard from the BlueSky Better xCloud account, which has identified a recent change in the code of the Xbox Cloud Gaming site, with the addition of a notification called "SubscriptionPriceIncrease", which suggests that Microsoft is preparing for a new increase.

If we look at the history of the service, Microsoft has often increased the prices of the Game Pass in the summer period. In June 2021 , the price of the PC Game Pass rose significantly from €3.99 to €9.99, followed in July 2023 by a general increase involving both the Ultimate version (from €12.99 to €14.99) and the Console version (from €9.99 to €10.99). In September of the same year, the Game Pass Core was introduced to replace Live Gold, and finally, in September 2024, the prices of PC Game Pass (from 9,99 to 11,99) and Ultimate (from 14,99 to 17,99) were revised upwards again, as well as the annual subscription to the Core (from 59,99 to 69,99). In fact, in just two years, Game Pass Ultimate has gone up by 5 Euros per month: from 12,99 to 17,99 Euros.

This tendency to adjust the price lists almost annually, combined with the technical clue that has recently emerged, makes it more than plausible to assume a new price increase expected in the coming weeks, probably in July. That we are heading towards the price of 19.99 per month for the Ultimate? Needless to say, in view of such a possibility, it is worth stocking up on additional months at the current price!
