The rumors had been in the air for a couple of months already, but now we have confirmation: the head of Xbox Game Studios Craig Duncan announced today on the official Xbox Podcast that Fable has been postponed to next year to give the team more time to better polish the game.

Duncan explained that Playground Games has done an excellent job on the title and that players will certainly be rewarded for the additional waiting time, thanks to "amazing gameplay" and the best incarnation of the world of Albion seen so far.

A new release period has not been provided, but it is reasonable to expect that the postponement will be at least six months, so not before the spring/summer 2026 period. We hope to find out more at the Xbox Showcase in June!
