A long demonstration for the gameplay of Lords of the Fallen

CI Games has released today a long demonstration of the gameplay of Lords of the Fallen, the new soulslike open world expected for October 13th. The video shows us some of the many places that we will find in the world of the game, as we follow the goal of defeating the demonic god Adyr.

Each major area of the map is interconnected with at least two others, so the order in which players venture into these lands largely depends on them. However, in this vast RPG experience they will not have to survive just one world, but two, thanks to the game's unique dual-kingdom mechanic.

Next to the realm of the living, Axiom, exists its counterpart of the undead, Umbral, with each kingdom featuring paths, enemies, characters, and, of course, unique treasures. Equipped with their Umbral lamp, players can switch to this parallel world at any time, but to do so they will use one of their two lives. When a player dies in the realm of the living, he automatically rises in the same spot, albeit in the realm of the undead, for one last chance to survive... even if the fate will be against him.

The movie also gives us new details about the co-op function of the title. To invite a second player to join our adventure, we will have to visit a resting point (vestige) within the game, where we can choose to fight alongside a friend or a randomly selected player. Another new gameplay element that Lords of the Fallen introduces to the genre is the ability for players to create their own vestiges, although it can only be done in very select locations and requires an extremely rare resource to do so.

In addition to numerous other gameplay details, many details have also been revealed about the completely revised combat system that players will use in Lords of the Fallen, seamlessly intertwining melee skills, magic and ranged skills. In addition to standard attacks, players can map up to four additional magical or ranged abilities to their controller for instant access. Not only does this allow for a far greater variety of combat, with the ability to put together an almost infinite number of combos, but it speeds up combat quickly, reducing the need to swap skills.

We leave you to the movie, good vision!
