Immortals of Aveum slips by a month, arrives on August 22

EA and the Ascendant studio announced today that the fascinating magical FPS Immortals of Aveum, recently seen in an interesting gameplay demonstration (below), will no longer be released as planned on July 20 but has been postponed by a month, to August 22.

Here's what the developers have to say about the postponement, followed by the recent gameplay video.

Hey, battle wizards,

Your reactions to Immortals of Aveum over the past few weeks have been incredibly inspiring: from our trailer at the PlayStation Showcase, to recent hands-on previews, to the latest gameplay reveal and the naming of one of the most anticipated games of the Summer Game Fest. It was amazing.

As you know, this is our first game as a self-funded independent studio. We started five years ago with the ambitious goal of making an original magical FPS in a new fantasy world. Along the way, we faced a pandemic, built a new team, developed on Unreal Engine 5.1, and pushed the boundaries of what we thought was possible. Now the finish line is in sight.

The recent feedback to the game shows us what we already heard: Immortals of Aveum is something special. To realize our full vision, we'll be taking a few more weeks, setting the new launch date for Tuesday, August 22. This will give us time to further refine the game, finish optimizing all platforms, and make a solid launch. We owe it to ourselves and you to do a good job.

Stay tuned for more information about the game in the coming weeks and thank you for joining this journey with us!
