Xbox updates with improvements to headphone management and backwards compatibility

Microsoft informs us that the March update of Xbox (Xbox One/S/X and Series X/S) has just been released, which does not make radical changes to the console's operating system but introduces some welcome improvements to the quality of the user experience.

The most important news, which will however be activated only from March 16 (release date of the new Xbox Wireless Headphones),is related to the arrival in the Xbox Accessories app of a series of new audio settings for headphones (not only official ones but all headphones). With this update, the app will allow you to fine-fine-fine-fine-designed audio controls for a personalized audio experience, including equalizer settings, bass increase, self-mute sensitivity, and microphone monitoring. In the case of the official Xbox controller, in addition, the app will allow you to update it with the latest firmware as already happens with the controllers.

Another welcome news is the introduction of Auto HDR and FPS Boost compatibility settings for Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One backwards compatible titles. Through this feature, accessible from the "Game Management" option, we can decide whether to disable the HDR car and the FPS Boost for the games that support them, so as to further customize our experience.

Other news to note are the return of the objectives in the Xbox mobile app and a new menu in the settings to allow us to better manage the renewal of our subscriptions (Gold, Game Pass, EA Play).

The update is already available to everyone and will as always be applied automatically in the next few hours: if you want to start it right away, you can do it from the system settings, option "Console Update".
