Sea of Thieves: Seasons, Battle Passes and new trips coming soon

We're finally here. Rare, with a video aimed at the community, began to illustrate some of the news coming to Sea of Thieves in 2021. The Team had stated that next year would be the richest and most full-bodied ever realized, and thanks to this first information we can begin to get an idea of what lies ahead. Take a sip of Grog and read on!

Joe Nate and his collaborators, with their typical irony, have stated that the update system will be completely overhauled: no more monthly updates, but sea of thieves will introduced the Seasons. The first of these will start in January, to start the New Year with a bang (and on the back of cannons). But let's see in more detail how these Seasons will work.

Season One will last three months, at the end of which there will be a Live Event that will take players to Season Two. That Captain Flameheart is about to finally make his move? The season includes a free Battle Pass system with as many as 100 rank levels, to be achieved before the deadline, and each unlocked level will give the player a reward. This will be accompanied by a paid Season Pass, called plunder pass. So some rewards will only be available to Plunder subscribers, while others will be exclusive to Legendary Pirates. To conclude, a new special journey will be added for the Merchant's Alliance, to be flanked by those already existing of the Gold Seekers and the Order of Souls. On this new journey we will become real detectives, charged with tracking down a mysterious cargo, disappeared into nothingness. Prepare your cunning, Pirates, not before you've had a nice sip of Grog!

During the season, however, minor updates will occur, such as corrective patches, new Emporium goods, and the already known Daily and Weekly Challenges. We hope that the change of pace of the maxi-updates (from monthly to quarterly) can allow the team to better play their cards both on the narrative and on the gameplay side.

For all Arena lovers, however,Joe Neate has stated that no new features will be introduced in this mode in the future. The team's efforts will only be concentrated in Adventuremode, the one most loved and played by fans.

In addition, Rare announced that in 2020 there were 11 million new players (in addition to those already counted until the end of 2019) to play Sea of Thieves, equally divided between PC and Console. The game therefore enjoys excellent health, and the team is motivated to enrich their title with new stories and adventures! If you are interested in delving into the news just released, we invite you to watch the video update published by Rare: good vision! ARRRGGG!!!
