Phil Spencer: xCloud will arrive on iOS in 2021 via a web app

There seems to be good news for Apple smartphone owners: Microsoft is working on a web-based solution, much like Amazon's for its Lunaservice, so that iOS users can play on their phones and tablets with project xCloud.

According to a news report published by Business Insider, Phil Spencer in a recent meeting with his employees proposed the alternative solution to the problem of Apple's policies against library applications. Apple's policy requires that every single game be certified and downloadable individually to appear in the Apple Store, so a collection like the Game Pass with xCloud is in clear violation of this policy.

The solution? Simple, avoid the Apple Store. Spencer explained that the company is working on a web application, that is, a very advanced website that runs in the iOS safari browser and can reproduce all the functions of the native application. To "install" this application would not require access to the Store, but it would be enough to browse to a specific web address. Definitely a solution that would please owners of iPhone and iPad; If that's the case, surely the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate catchment area, which includes xCloud, would grow significantly.

We just have to hope that this solution will be released as soon as possible!
