Moons of Madness sci-fi sci-fi arrives in January, new trailer

Funcom announced today that Moons of Madness,a first-person horror adventure that combines Cthulhu mythology with a futuristic mars mission, will arrive on our consoles on January 21, 2020. The announcement is accompanied by a new trailer that shows us the settings and gameplay of the title; we'll show you below, along with the official description of the game.

A mysterious signal from the red planet has been picked up.

Orochi's scientists have been left discontinued. Their analysts have examined it, concluding that it is of intelligent origin. Orochi's management immediately decided that such a discovery was too sensitive to make it public and acted to keep it hidden. In secret, the corporation has begun construction of Trailblazer Alpha, a state-of-the-art research outpost on Mars, designed to investigate the true nature of the message.

You are Shane Newehart, a technician assigned to Trailblazer Alfa; your level of security is too low, so you have no idea that that mysterious signal exists. Your job is to keep everything running until the Cyrano transport shuttle arrives, with the new team on board to replace you.

Well, you come across some really strange difficulties. Crucial systems are failing, the greenhouse has been filled with a strange fog and your team has not yet returned from its extravehicular mission.
Everything is starting to fall apart.

You start to see and hear things that don't exist. Are they visions? Hallucinations? Or maybe... something else? Is what you see real, or are you slowly slipping into madness?

Experience the true cosmic horror

Your only hope of salvation is hundreds of thousands of miles away, so you'll face very real terrors like isolation and paranoia, reinforced by supernatural elements and cosmic horrors. Terrifying visions and monstrous apparitions will lead you to wonder what's real and what's not, while the very plot of reality threatens to crumble.
