On the news that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will support crossplay between PC and console, many have been concerned that console players could be penalized against those using the mouse and keyboard; Infinity Ward spoke on the subject at last night's multiplayer reveal event.

Multiplayer Design Director Joe Cecot has made it clear that the game uses matchmaking based onthe control device, which means that players using a mouse and keyboard will only play with those who use the same players who use the gamepad (regardless of whether on console or PC) will play with each other. This is the default setting, but gamepad players can eventually choose in the options to clash with mouse and keyboard players as well if they think this doesn't penalize them.

Definitely the best choice to ensure an even challenge among all players!
