Rumor: Xbox One without disk in 2019, it will be possible to "digitize" your discs

While everyone is waiting for the next generation of Xbox, codename Scarlett and arriving in 2020, it seems that Microsoft doesn't want to still sit on our hands on the front of the Xbox One . The site Thurrot.com , that several times in the past has produced leak and rumor about Microsoft products then prove to be true, has proved an important part of the future strategy of Microsoft: Xbox One without a disk drive .

According to the site, Microsoft is designing this Xbox One version to market it in spring 2019 ; the purpose of the removal of the player is to produce a version of the console even cheaper under 200 Euros up to even just 100 Euros, and you could be based solely on the purchase of digital games and subscription services like Xbox Game Pass and EA Access.

But if you are afraid of not being able to play your titles on disc or can't buy used games to disk, Microsoft has thought of that: the site tells us that along with the new console will be also launched a " digitizing service " games on disc. This service is supported in the chain stores merchants which can just bring their own games to disk and provide your Xbox Live account to transform them into digital purchases so that they are fully playable on the new console.

According to Thurrot.com, however, Microsoft knows well that many players prefer the physical media, and this will not mean death records: always in 2019 will be released a new Xbox 360 S slim which, while costing less than the present and having smaller, will include a disk drive.

As for the next Xbox "Scarlett", it seems that Microsoft has not yet decided whether to take her since the launch with a "disc-less" version: this will probably also from the success that will have the new Xbox One.

Is nevertheless undeniable the fact that Microsoft is moving toward a digital future, but this time in full respect of those preferring to still play on disk, without forcing absurd policies like those announced--and then quickly withdrawn-before the launch of the Xbox One.

As always we will keep you informed about all the news related to this rumor: stay tuned!
