There is nothing better than the weeks before E3, the ones that make you get out of bed by exclaiming " I love the smell of rumor in the morning! ". And we are obviously here to satisfy your lust for gossip, this time with an indiscretion disconcerting that could in our opinion does not have strong roots in reality.

In an article on what to expect from E3, the US site Polygon claims to have heard rumors about the fact that Microsoft, among other ads that will make the event, is preparing to announce three titles in the series Gears of War .

One of these, explains the site, will be the next sequel, Gears of War 5 , already leaked in the now famous list of Walmart , while the other two would be a real time strategy (RTS) along the lines of Halo Wars and a Battle Royale style multiplayer title.

Because we said just before this rumor does not seem to have a great foundation of reality? For two reasons. The first is that after Halo Wars 2 , would have very little meaning for Microsoft finance development of another RTS. Also a series like Gears of War, in which the battles are fought among the shelters offered by the environment, would make much more sense in a turn-based strategy style XCOM . The second reason is the fact that Microsoft has denied in the past that would have created a title Battle Royale , and this rumor seems to be contradicted in the bud.

Anyway everything is possible, and the House of Redmond would surprise us: as always, we just have to wait for E3!
