Here's an absolutely unexpected move: Microsoft has just announced that it has partnered with Discord , the hugely popular text and voice chat system for PC, to integrate the system with Xbox Live so that players of the two "worlds" may begin to interact with each other.

This integration will be coming shortly to the members of the program and Preview Alpha Ring will be, at least initially, rather light : first, we must connect our ID Discord on our Live accounts in Social settings page where already We can manage Twitter and Facebook, as in the following image:

The same thing will be done on the Discord, linking your account Live on that system. Once that is done, your friends Discord will be able to see what you're playing on Xbox, but you won't be able to even communicate with them.

It's not for now known the development plan of this feature and if/when it will be also integrated voice chat, but we expect it to be still in the plans, otherwise such integration would not make much sense.
