Xbox home renovations: the MS Studios have a new boss, new Xbox Executive Italy

Coming today two reports of Microsoft's leadership in the field changes Xbox: the most important one is the appointment, by Phil Spencer, of a new Boss of Microsoft Studios , the area responsible for whatever development of video games first and second party Xbox and PC, as well as development agreements with third parties.

The role had been played by Spencer, who had maintained on an interim basis even after his promotion in September to Executive Vice President of Gaming at reporting directly to the CEO Satya Nadella, but the manager is now the time to leave managing more than "low level" of the business to devote himself exclusively to direct with an overview of the entire Microsoft gaming sector. Spencer has named Matt Booty at the helm of Microsoft Studios.

Booty ( here his Twitter ), formerly Manager of Midway US and then came to Microsoft to drive Mojang after the acquisition, will oversee and take important decisions concerning the development of Microsoft games, influencing therefore the fate of time series such as Halo , Forza , Gears of War in addition to birth of new; you will also follow the exclusive agreements for third party games. At the time of this appointment, Spencer reiterated that Microsoft will invest more and more in the development of new titles, and the appointment of Booty is just to make sure that there is a person dedicated solely to follow internal studies and franchise. We should hear about Matt's Booty increasingly in the future, and I will see you again on stage at E3.

The other nomination, maybe less important at the level of the entire Xbox brand but that interests us more directly, is Cedric Mimouni as new head of Xbox for the Mediterranean countries (Italy, Greece, Malta and Cyprus), which takes the place of Paul B to which we make our wishes for its future activities.

Born in the French Basque country but a graduate of Bocconi University in Milan, Mimouni comes from Senior Marketing Manager for Xbox, but even before France was engaged in Electronic Arts at Milan as a Product Manager for FIFA and Senior Product Manager for EA SPORTS. We wish therefore to Cedric our dearest good luck to the new venture, hoping he can make more visible and popular the Xbox brand in a market that is "hard" as one Italian!
