First details on multiplayer and class system in Battlefield 1

After yesterday's revelation, SAYS has now released the first details on the multiplayer Battlefield 1 , which will be based on the same setting of the campaign: the first world war. First, the developers explained that the class system of the series was revised with the introduction of several innovations.

The most important is that, this time, to drive the vehicles we must belong to certain classes: in the past, any player, regardless of its class, could take possession of a vehicle on the ground, but now can be controlled only by specific classes. If you want to pilot a biplane, for example, you will need to have a character of class pilot, although you can still have a gunner belonging to another class; to drive a tank, instead, will serve a soldier of type Tanker but can carry a team of allies of any class. It was not clear if they will serve specific classes for riding or driving any other types of vehicles, but it is possible that this is so.

The vehicles themselves will also have classes that will differentiate the various types: such as the tanks can be light, medium and heavy, and such distinctions will also present for other vehicles.

HE SAYS then explained that some maps will be really huge, in the style of the early Battlefield, allowing us thus to create huge battles involving not only the use of aircraft-with which we can both engage in aerial combat that bomb and strafe enemies to the ground-but also of immense warships offshore, with whose weapons we can literally demolish the coasts by changing the appearance thanks to an engine of terrain deformation.

The horses will be used mainly to explore the territory and encircle the enemy, but many fights will take place on the ground, remote close shooting: for this reason introduces a new combat system to cold steel utilizing sabers and charged with the bayonet. Obviously the firearms will continue to play a role as protagonists, and each character will have their own specific weapons such as heavy machine guns of the Support class.

That's all for now: stay tuned for more info on Battlefield 1 !
