NetherRealm: soon the announcement of the new Mortal Kombat, will it be a reboot?

The Mortal Kombat YouTube channel recently shared a new video (below), entitled "It's Almost Now", in which you can see the hands of a clock, with that of the hours pointed at the number 12, while that of the seconds proceeds inexorably towards the number 12 only to stop suddenly and make a leap on the number 1.

The video obviously alludes to Mortal Kombat 12, the next episode of the series, informing us that we will soon have news of the title. The enigmatic footage, however, may have revealed even more.

The fact that the second hand skips the number 12 going directly to 1 could indicate a change in the numbering of the series, and instead of Mortal Kombat 12 we will have Mortal Kombat 1. Several sources, including the authoritative journalist Jez Corden, have in fact reported that NetherRealm is not working on a sequel to the series but on a real reboot, which will reset the history of the characters of the series starting all from scratch, indeed from one.

But not only that: according to these rumors, the game could be released very soon, even in September, and the Kombat Pass will include guest characters from other Warner Bros. properties, such as the DC character Peacemaker (made famous by the interpretation of John Cena in Suicide Squad), and even Homelander from the series The Boys.

To know if it is all true we will probably have to wait a little longer: according to the developers, the announcement is imminent! We leave you to the teaser video below.
