EA and Codemasters Announce F1 22

Electronic Arts has announced the new F1 22 Codemasters simulator, out worldwide on Friday, July 1. The biggest change in over a decade will see players take their seats for the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship in new hybrid cars, while the new rules will reinvent the competition weekend with the inclusion of F1 Sprint races.

Thanks to a more competitive and unpredictable line-up, players will test their skills throughout the 2022 calendar, which will include the Autodromo Internazionale for the inaugural Miami Grand Prix. Another absolute novelty will be the fact that players will be able to enter the glamorous world of Formula 1 with F1 Life, a customizable hub to show off their collection of supercars, clothing and accessories earned through the game, the Podium Pass and the in-game branded store. Players can now pre-order the Champions Edition, which includes three days of early access and a Miami-inspired time-limited content pack.

The redefined race day allows players to customize their set-up with new Immersive and Broadcast options that affect training laps, safety car moments and pit stops. By selecting Immersive players will face risk-reward challenges, which could make the difference between winning a place on the podium or exiting the leaderboard. Broadcast takes the pressure off, with controlled, authentic kinematics that keep players close to the action.

For new and casual enthusiasts, the new Adaptive AI keeps less experienced players competitive for the duration of each race, with the opponents' AI adapted to the skill level. Accessible menus and management also return to help players quickly get to the action without the need to understand the intricacies of the sport. The revamped practice programs offer more variety with new scoring systems and on-track visualizations. This helps players tackle every corner perfectly before racing for all those important points for the championship.

F1 22 also boasts improvements to existing features, including My Team, which allows players to choose their initial budget based on three entry points: Newcomer, Challenger and Front Runner. The game sees real track updates in Australia, Spain and Abu Dhabi to reflect recent changes. F1 22 also features its acclaimed ten-year career , complete with a two-player option, and Multiplayer is back for epic races against the global racing community.

We leave you now to the announcement trailer and a set of images.
