Xbox One S: our photos, prices and everything you need to know about the new console

Our E3 sent Dave and Alexei survived the marathon of lectures and tests of the game of the day just ended in Los Angeles, and before passing out in the hotel we have posted some pictures taken on site to the new Xbox One S . Before showing you there is a summary of the various prices and the main features of the new console. Read on!

Models and prices:

  • Xbox One S 500GB to 299 €
  • Xbox One S 1 TB in 349 €
  • Xbox One S 2 TB limited edition , available in some markets to 399 €

Available: Be pre-ordered from today and in August. Xbox One S replaces the Xbox One standard, which when depleted inventory in stores will no longer be sold.

Features:

  • 40% smaller -is the smallest Xbox produced so far
  • Internal power supply -the new console is not only the smallest, but get rid of the bulky "brick" that has accompanied all the Xbox
  • Vertical Stand  (not included in version 500GB)-Unlike the current console, the new Xbox One S will also be positioned vertically
  • Coloration -console has been shown in white, but will be available also in black. It is unclear whether matte or glossy
  • 4 k -4 k video output full support for video, both from reader apps like Netflix and other
  • Ultra HD Blu-ray -Blu-ray console supports 4 k, making it one of the cheapest 4 k players on the market
  • HDR -High Dynamic Range color gamut support for both video that for games ( Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4 will be the first to support it), used in Ultra HD TV. Will create real, vivid and bright colors
  • IR Blaster -thanks to the integrated IR Blaster, the console will be able to send on/off commands and change the volume on the TV and audio source, exactly as previously possible with Kinect. You don't have to be positioned frontally to devices: IR pulses bounce around the room back to the device. Turn on the console, and this will automatically launch TV and HiFi system!
  • Controller -includes the new controller improved with more stable grip and greater range. The controller also has bluetooth built in so that it can be used with Win10 devices (PCs, tablets and phones) that support without additional handsets. Obviously the console will still be at 100% compatible with existing controllers and all other accessories Xbox One.
  • Kinect -the new console will not have a dedicated port for the current Xbox 360 Kinect: this choice was made to allow greater miniaturization of hardware. This does not mean, however, that Kinect is not usable: you will need to use the same adapter already used today to connect the sensor to the PC. The current Xbox owners One with Kinect may require free MS after buying the console, while the new buyers will have to buy it separately .
