It is a bizarre and extraordinary sports and action game which can be defined as a mixture of dodgeball and combat. We can play against friends and relatives fighting against our opponents in an attempt to eliminate them with all means at our disposal: dodgeballs, jellyfish, beehives ...

Or we can be partners with our best friend, your favorite relative or even the I. A. and dealing in a thrilling adventure in a cooperative in the fascinating story campaign. We will deal with all kinds of character, hippies, whales, skeletons and more and go on a noble mission of saving the rival team to capture the Championship trophy!

Origins

The idea of the game we came to mind during the Nordic Game Jam. We were five passionate students of game design at the University of Copenhagen and Informatics we joined forces to complete that strange experiment that ultimately became Stikbold!.

Stikbold! received the award for funniest game and won third place in the overall standings. These results led us to continue working on the game, with the goal of achieving a real title for consoles. To fulfill our dreams, we set up a studio and we have taken this long and exciting trip!

Inspirations

Stikbold is the name of a popular game popular Scandinavian parks or schoolyards during recess or physical education hours. Like all popular games , Stikbold has many variations, but it's still always a tag which involves throwing balls or objects.

Stikbold! Dodgeball Adventure is a very loose interpretation of the corresponding popular game. What we wanted to propose in particular is the climate of the game from recreation/outdoors that is by nature usually cheerful, playful and engaging.

In that spirit, let's leave players a chance to be owners and managers of the action and of the outcome of the matches to make the game much more personal. For example, even after being deleted, players can still control the various elements that make up the dangers for others. In addition to offering something to do between rounds and the other when it is deleted, this encourages them to take action to balance the fate of the game.

Players eliminated can choose to take revenge on their opponents or hinder the player in the lead, but in any case this influence usually leads to funny personal interactions between players. Provide a personal involvement in the game action is a way to tap into the social dynamics of local multiplayer: we hope that this is perceived when you play with our title.
