Activision Guitar Hero leaves and other series

Activision announced tonight that, due to the sharp decline of interest by the public in music games, Guitar Hero series will abandon canceling the development, already started, the title was planned for late 2011. It 'sad to see how a time series, which has raised the public at large a kind of musical game strongly linked to rock culture, has now come to an end. This news follows the EA dell'abbandondo the same kind, after the sale of developer Harmonix, which, however, seems willing to continue to explore the world of music titles.

Activision also announced the cancellation of True Crime: Hong Kong, a brand clearly seen as too weak to generate profits. In the next hours there will be a conference to shareholders of the company: we will inform you when more news will emerge.

Update: Activision has announced that no further plans to release other music games or skateboarding, which means the disposal of the series and Tony Hawk's DJ Hero. The company has stated its intention to focus on more profitable brands, Call of Duty and Blizzard games in the first place.
