Magenta Down, an atmospheric sci-fi adventure from the creators of Unto the End, announced

2 Ton Studios, the team behind Unto the End, has unveiled its new project: it is Magenta Down, a sci-fi-themed atmospheric adventure coming in 2027, which will see us engaged in surviving on a hostile exoplanet in an attempt to find our missing crew.

The starting point is simple: our ship crashed and the team members ended up scattered on the surface of a remote and inhospitable world. With supplies reduced to the bone and a territory that is anything but friendly all around, we will have to be able to gather the companions and find an escape route. The idea of the developers is to propose a journey in which it is important to move forward and bear the weight of one's choices, because according to the team the beauty of an adventure lies precisely in "facing difficult decisions without having all the information and living with the consequences".

The planet itself will be the first of our adversaries. Between extreme weather conditions and radiation, we will have to constantly monitor our state of health and establish the next destination from time to time. A flashing light on the horizon, for example, often signals the presence of a crashed supply capsule, while the signal of a newly reactivated antenna could indicate the location of the next industrial outpost.

Whether you move on the surface or inside a decommissioned mining plant, every movement promises to be full of tension. Being surprised by a storm, in particular, will cause radiation exposure to soar while reducing visibility: with the Geiger counter crackling and the radiation indicator constantly rising, it will become essential to identify traces of creatures, precious resources and places to shelter in time.

Yes, because to make things even more complicated there will also be the inhabitants of the planet, who once provoked prove to be very fast and lethal. The combat, however, does not focus on precision aiming or complex key combinations: we will rather have to maintain the position and choose the right moment to strike, an approach that according to the developers guarantees a good balance between tension and satisfaction, without sacrificing accessibility.

During the journey we will have several tools at our disposal to know in advance the dangers that await us, prepare for them and reduce their impact. We will be able to collect information at the site of a crash or inside a structure before venturing outside, manage the few available supplies wisely or, more simply, proceed with caution and carefully observe our surroundings. The team's goal is to offer a compact and focused experience, capable of rewarding a reflective and thoughtful approach.

2 Ton Studios promises to share more details about Magenta Down as we get closer to the release. In the meantime, we leave you to the announcement trailer, enjoy!
