The wait for the new chapter of the Metro saga finally has an exact date: Metro 2039 will arrive on February 4 , 2027 on all platforms. Along with the date, the first opportunity to see the game run on consoles has also arrived, accompanied by the first details on the technical sector.

In fact, a Performance mode capable of combining 4K resolution, 60 FPS and ray tracing will be available on XBOX Series X at launch, while the full picture of the specifications and the various graphics modes will be revealed in the coming months.

The video published for the occasion draws on the same campaign content that it was possible to try at gamescom, and chooses to focus everything on substance: no-frills gameplay, obsessive care in the construction of environments, dynamic firefights and, above all, the demonstration of how much the 4A Engine has grown since 2019, the year of release of Metro Exodus.

The timing is not accidental, considering that Metro 2039 has just taken home the "Best Visuals" award at the gamescom awards, after collecting more nominations than any other title present at the event. A recognition that does not surprise those who follow the work of 4A Games, a studio that has made technical mastery its trademark: they were the first to bring ray tracing to PC with Metro Exodus and later to consoles with Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition.
