2K and Visual Concepts today announced NBA 2K27, confirming that the next chapter of the famous basketball simulation will arrive on September 4th. Those who opt for the special versions, however, will be able to take to the parquet a week in advance, accessing the title as early as August 28. The announcement was accompanied by the reveal of the cover athletes, while to see the game in action we will have to wait until July 28.

For this new edition, the developers have chosen three exceptional faces, assigned to each version of the game. The Standard edition will feature Victor Wembanyama, center of the San Antonio Spurs and the first player in NBA history to be unanimously elected Defensive Player of the Year. The Deluxe Edition will celebrate women's basketball with Caitlin Clark, guard of the Indiana Fever, 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and true icon who has transformed the landscape of this sport. Finally, the prestigious Ultra Edition will pay tribute to Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls legend, three-time All-Star and the youngest MVP ever in the league.

From the point of view of gameplay and experience on the court, NBA 2K27 promises to make us experience basketball at 360 degrees thanks to the return of ProPLAY technology, which will take care of translating real NBA actions into ultra-realistic animations. In matches we will be able to take advantage of new improved shooting mechanics and exhibit ankle-breaking dribbles to overcome defenders. We will also be able to create our own MyPLAYER in the MyCAREER mode to face a story that will test our talent against the legends of the sport, with the aim of becoming the best ever. There will also be La Città, where we can join forces with friends to form a Crew and dominate the Park and REC courts, while in MyTEAM we will be able to collect the stars of the present and past of the NBA and WNBA to build our dream team, challenging opponents both in single player and multiplayer.

Analyzing the commercial offer available for XBOX, the game will be distributed in three different formats. The Standard Edition will be offered at a price of $69.99, while the Deluxe Edition will rise to $99.99 guaranteeing, in addition to early access on August 28, 100,000 VC, numerous packs and upgrades for MyTEAM and MyCAREER, a coin to double the experience for two hours in both modes and Wembanyama and Clark jerseys for your avatar. At the top of the offer we find the Ultra Edition at $149.99: this package includes all the content of the Deluxe with the addition of an additional 35,000 VC, the Season 1 Pro Pass, the Pro Pass bundle for summer seasons 7 to 9 coming in the summer of 2027, Rose's oversized sweatshirt and special MyTEAM player cards with a very high rating, including a guaranteed 98 OVR for the month of December 2026 and an Invincible for May 2027. Finally, an interesting loyalty incentive should be noted: NBA 2K26 owners who pre-order the Ultra Edition on the same platform will be able to take advantage of a 10% discount.
