Halo Campaign Evolved shows itself in a long gameplay, arrives on July 28

The third video shown at the Xbox Games Showcase is Halo: Campaign Evolved, which presented us with a long and very convincing gameplay trailer, before revealing the release date of July 28th; the video also reveals one of the additions made to the game, Operation METEORITE.

This new addition will take us back in time, exactly one year before the events of the first Halo: Combat Evolved. Here we will have to play as the Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson in a clandestine UNSC mission aboard a Covenant research ship. What at first will seem like a simple recovery operation will soon prove to be much more complex than expected. In this remake we will have to face new threats, including the Brute Berserker, explore new locations and even take the fights directly into space. The sandbox will provide us with new variants of enemies and a wider arsenal, drawing on different weapons from all over the saga.

To ensure that the plot and setting fully respect the sci-fi military atmosphere we are used to, the development of the story was curated in collaboration with the famous science fiction author Troy Denning. His contribution was fundamental to give the right tone and depth to a chapter that fits fully into the rich lore of the series.

Those who do not want to wait for the full release will be able to take advantage of the five-day early access, available starting July 23 for those who purchase the Premium Edition or the Collector's Edition. Pre-orders are already active and also include the Standard Edition. The title will be available from launch through the Game Pass catalog and will support the XBOX Play Anywhere feature, allowing us to enjoy the experience on consoles and in the cloud without interruption.

We leave you to the video, enjoy!
